Who we are :
The Hudson Valley Outdoors Recreation Expo began working on our concept in 2004 with our focus being “If you can do it outdoors we want you at our show“. After months and years of background work on our customer base, demographic studies and choosing a location which is centrally located in the Hudson Valley, we choose The Dutchess County Fairgrounds in beautiful Rhinebeck NY, located 1 hour from Albany and 1.5 hours from NYC. Executive Team :
Dave Talbot, Promoter and President of Talbot Marketing, 56, has been involved in the national trade show industry for over 28 years. He has held positions as Director of Sales and Marketing for several worldwide professional audio companies such as AKG Acoustics, BSS Audio, JBL Pro and Sennheiser Electronics were he headed the trade show management team with the primary industry shows being, National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), Consumer Electronic Shows (CES), Audio Engineering Society (AES) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). He understands the importance of a well-organized and well-attended show. Dave formed Talbot Marketing in 1992, and has also been involved in several successful business ventures, acquiring additional valuable experience in show marketing, production and promotion that will help make the Hudson Valley Outdoors Recreation Expo successful at the start.
Bruce Garrett, Promoter and President of Bill Walter Shows, Inc., 59, is presently the promoter of the Rhinebeck Antiques Fair. For 32 years these shows have been nationally recognized for their excellent organization and overwhelming popularity. His long time involvement with the shows he produces and promotes gives him the expertise necessary to make the Hudson Valley Outdoor Recreation Expo a huge success. His training as a commercial artist and prior ownership of a successful sign company provides him with the tools to create advertising that works. Having lived and served in the Hudson Valley his entire life, he has a commitment to the region and its people. Bruce’s broad background ideally suits him to direct the financial and organizational aspects of our successful business.
Brett Brandes, Promoter and Show Manager for Bill Walters Shows Inc., 32, has been in the trade show business since 1991. Brett started out as an antiques porter for Bill Walter, founder of the prestigious Rhinebeck Antiques Fair and has since worked his way up the corporate ladder into the position of Show Manager and is now one of three Promoters of The Hudson Valley Outdoor Recreation Expo. Brett is a lifelong fisherman and shares his love of nature with his daughter, who has taken up the hobby with enthusiasm. The creation of an outdoor recreation event in the Hudson Valley has been a dream of Brett’s for years. Additional expertise in Public Safety and Security give Brett the necessary skills to direct the operation of The Hudson Valley Outdoor Recreation Expo with primary emphasis on streamlining operations and implementing cost-saving alternatives.
